Mission and Purpose
The purpose of the organization is to educate people about the culture, heritage, and contributions of the Celtic people and Celtic nations, promote the perpetuation of Celtic culture, traditions, customs, history, literature, and music and to provide venues for recognizing and celebrating their rich legacy through education in Washington County and Upper East Tennessee.

Membership
The Corporation is governed by an Executive Board of Directors consisting of five to seven individuals. In addition, other individuals are members of the Upper East Tennessee Celtic Society and volunteer their time, energy, and hard work to make the festival a success. Membership in the Upper East Tennessee Celtic Society is open to anyone 16 years of age or older who has an interest in Celtic heritage, music, and culture. Membership dues are $5.00 per individual yearly and $10.00 per family. The Society publishes a newsletter twice yearly in October after the festival and in March for St. Patrick’s Day. The newsletter is available on our website. Members and volunteers who work at the Sycamore Shoals Celtic Festival are entitled to festival discounts.

The Upper East Tennessee Celtic Society meets once a month at the Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park usually the fourth Sunday at 3:00pm You can contact the park or one of the information contact numbers to find out more about these meetings. Each month the UETCS presents these meetings as a gathering for Celtic minded individuals to gather as well as offering lectures, videos, workshops, music presentations, historical teachings and much more all with the Seven Celtic Nations as the main focus. Come and join us for some good educational moments as well as the fun and fellowship.
